Dear Soul Friends,
Here we are - together in this place.
Look around and you will find your people gathered here, other soul friends who are looking around for you too.
It’s been a wild and rocky year - nothing like what we expected!
We have felt much desolation and given much attention to our desolations.
But now, let’s be still and pay attention to where we notice consolation.
Consolation isn’t just about having good times or seeking out highlights that break up the monotony of regular life.
Consolation is a gift. A gift that may render our losses more bearable by inviting a shift in how we live our lives - even in the midst of suffering.
Consolation implies a period of transition: it prepares us for a time when the present suffering will have turned. Consolation promises that turning.
We are together in that period of transition.
We are being invited to shift our perspective.
Even as this year turns from 2020 to 2021, we are welcomed to turn our hearts - to be consoled.
In this season of darkness, behold, the light has come and is here!
Receive the blessing of consolation!
From Isaiah 40
“Comfort, comfort my people, says your God....
You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah
“Here is your God”...
He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart.”
May you experience being held in the arms of Jesus and close to his heart as you start a new year.
Much love,
Kaylene
