Morning Has the Habit of Coming Every Day
Are mornings hard for you? They are not generally for me. That is until this new year started.
Maybe it’s the ongoing pandemic. Maybe it’s the stiff difficulty of winter. Maybe subconsciously I know that I will not be wearing open toed shoes for at least another 4 months. Whatever the case, staying in bed seems to be my response to all those feelings right now.

How Can I Hate
How can I hate, Lord, when You love? How can I hate when You are full of mercy?
I am made in Your image.
How can I hate when I, too, am bruised and broken? How can I hate when I, too, have bruised and broken?
I am no different.
How can I help but love, and love deeply and compassionately? How can I not see You in them? How can I not see them in me?
Perhaps when we are blind, we see.
I focused on my pain and I forgot who You were. I focused on me and disregarded You.
Slowly, I turned.
Away from me, back to You. And my eyes were open, my heart was freed.
Perhaps when we are blind, we see.
